Future plans at Snovali

For the record, I generally only breed about one or two litters a year, what you are seeing here is litters planned for the next two years. I like to plan as far in advance as possible so I don't get caught in a crunch.  I frequently change my plans but it is easier to change them than not to have them at all! My goals as a breeder is to have sound bodies and minds and also be able to compete in several venues including Conformation, Obedience, Rally and Agility. I also am working with two different registries, AKC and UKC. There are things I like about both registries and their various competitions.

When you see several planned breedings in a single year, it is because of problems with missed litters and attempts to keep my breeding program going forward without making sacrifices in quality.  Stud availability/age and female age also can be a factor.

Born August 30, 2010

Snovali Came Out Of The Sky ("Comet") was bred to Snovali Hotter Than July ("Stevie," AKC ptd)
Comet gave us 5 gorgeous blue merle puppies! We hope to have some show quality pups in this litter.

Due Sept. 13-21, 2010

Snovali TouchTone Nina Ricci ("Ricci") was bred to Snovali Hotter Than July ("Stevie," AKC ptd)
This will result in Blue Merles and Tricolors.  Hoping to produce a "replacement" for Stevie's sire by tightly line-breeding.
This litter will be born and raised at TouchTone  Shelties, who we are co-breeding with.

Due Sept. 21-30, 2010

TouchTone Double Take ("Duet") was bred to Snovali Touchtone Opening Move ("Gambit," AKC maj ptd)
This will result in all Sables.  This breeding has a lot of potential for sweet faces and great attitudes.
This litter is also being co-bred with TouchTone but will be born and raised here at Snovali.

Planning for this fall:

U-CH Snovali Dark Of The Moon ("Ada," AKC ptd) will be bred to one of two boys,
One possibility is Alsudera-Veliz The Cowboy Way ("Drifter") from Veliz Shelties
The other possibility is a double merle boy at Shadowbrook Shelties, "Blitz"
Either breeding will produce blue merles and Bi-blues, but the double merle breeding should not produce any blacks.
Which way we go depends a LOT on when she comes in season!
